Studies on Humanistic Buddhism is a journal focused on academic articles related to Humanistic Buddhism that have been translated from Chinese.
The first volume of the journal is titled Foundational Thoughts 人間佛教論文選要. The articles can be found below in the “categories” and in the “articles and posts” sections. It is the result of a unique project involving more than 30 volunteers in 7 countries. Led by the Fo Guang Shan Institute of Humanistic Buddhism and managed by the Humanistic Buddhism Centre of Nan Tien Institute of Higher Learning, this worldwide team worked collaboratively using an online translation portal developed specifically for the project. The portal’s glossary provided consistent terminology in the translations. This novel collaborative effort helped the team translate, edit, proofread and publish 15 journal articles in just 7 months.
The second volume of Studies on Humanistic Buddhism, Practical Applications: Venerable Master Hsing Yun on Humanistic Buddhism 星雲大師人間佛教研究論文集, was published in August 2019.
